Blizzard 2010

So, we received a TON of snow this weekend. Well, a ton for us. It started Friday afternoon and lasted until the evening. Then the freezing rain continued off and on through the night. Garrett was so excited he had a hard time sleeping. He couldn't get out of the door fast enough Saturday morning. So, Chris and Garrett went sledding with the neighbors and even May had a great time. The only downfall was that we were not able to make a snowman because of the amount of ice mixed in. Excellent family weekend.

Counting Down

Amy is officially 34 weeks today, which means that we have only five more weeks to go until the scheduled c-section date. We are pretty excited, but not as excited as Garrett. He has been bringing us so many new baby/big brother books to read lately (thank you to Eva and Kerry for giving them to us). Amy had a doctor's appointment on January 18 and we decided to bring Garrett along for two reasons. First, because of the new rule in place at the hospital of no visitor's under the age of 18 and second, if he is allowed to come visit (fingers crossed) he will feel more comfortable with mommy being in the hospital. Oh yes, Garrett was excited because he was able to hear Sean's heartbeat.

We are so blessed that Garrett is excited about Sean's arrival and ready to be a big brother. We know he is an excellent playmate with Camryn, but to have seen how sweet he is with Sophie, and even Mackenzie (Kerry's daughter) it is just reassuring that the timing is right. We are thrilled to meet this little guy who hopefully will look like his big brother, because we did such a good job creating such a beautiful Garrett. Garrett and Amy have predicted that Sean will have brown eyes like Chris. Not too much longer .....

Christmas 2009

Christmas, as always, was awesome this year. Christmas Eve Jen, Ricky, and Sophie came up (for the 3rd time this month, bless them) to spend Sophie's first Christmas with Amy's family. Mike, Sarah, Doug, and Joyce were all there, including the clan of canines (May, Zoe, Wylie, and Autumn). We celebrated at our house with a ton of great food and much fun watching Garrett and Sophie opening their presents. Garrett was one happy boy with all that he received!

Christmas Day we went to Chris' parents' house to celebrate with his family. Grandfather and Aunt Pat were there as well. Garrett and Camryn were very pleased with everything they received. Afterward we came home, watched movies and relaxed. Successful Christmas!

Pictures with Santa

So, friends of Chris' parents love to play Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. We found out that they were going to be at the Ford dealership and decided to take Garrett for his annual Santa picture. Ironically, Garrett has been around these people since birth, literally. Now that he is older he is VERY nervous to be around Santa, and we don't know why.

Garrett's 4th Birthday Party

We had to be creative and re-think our ideas regarding Garrett's birthday party. So, Amy got the idea to call the Discovery Place in Charlotte. It was awesome! A pirate-themed birthday where they got to dress up, go on a treasure hunt, make a treasure chest, visit the Shipwrecked exhibit, were visited by a real pirate, cake and lemonade included, plus admission to the museum afterward. Best party, we actually got to enjoy the party and were stress-free. PRICELESS!

Picking out a Christmas tree

The Sunday after Thanksgiving we decided to head on up to the mountains to select our Christmas tree. Mike and Sarah tagged along and got to experience the joys of traveling with a child that asks "why?" every five seconds. We had a great time and brought back some beautiful trees.

Thanksgiving - Miller Style

So, we must give a huge thanks to Mike and Sarah for hosting their first Thanksgiving. It was great and hats off to a job well done. Although we forgot to take pictures of the table, food, etc here are a few after the festivities.
